About Dr. Lotesto
Dr. Anthony Lotesto was born and raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. He recently completed four years of service in the United States Navy. He is now happily practicing at Southern Oral and Facial Surgery. The procedures he performs range from extractions, wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, to pathology to trauma cases. He enjoys meeting new people and developing surgical and leadership skills. He was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy, and he is grateful for the opportunity he had to serve his country and community.
Education and Residency
Dr. Lotesto began his higher education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with honors in molecular and cell biology with university honors. He was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy prior to attending dental school at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During his studies, he was active in several organizations, including the American Student Dental Association, Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity, and the Oral Surgery Honors Program. In 2016, he graduated at the top of his class, earning a doctorate in dental medicine. He then trained in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. Following his residency, Dr. Lotesto was stationed at Naval Station Great Lakes in Chicago. He and his family have now settled in Middle Tennessee and are thankful to be part of a wonderful community.
Certifications
In 2021 Dr. Lotesto became a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, and he meets the annual educational requirements to maintain his certification. He thoroughly enjoys his profession, as it allows him to meet patients and provide them with exceptional, comfortable care. He focuses intently on patient safety, comfort and ideal outcomes. Whether it is wisdom tooth removal, dental implant surgery, pathology or full mouth reconstruction, Dr. Lotesto’s top priority is providing great patient experiences and outcomes.
Interests
Dr. Lotesto enjoys time outdoors and especially on the water. He learned to love the Southern way of life after moving to Charleston, SC where he met his wife, Cayleigh. In his free time, Dr. Lotesto enjoys biking, walking with his dog Sully, and traveling with his wife and son. He enjoys exercise, playing musical instruments, and developing his barbecue skills. He is also active in local and national dental organizations.
