All-on-4® Treatment Concept

The Long-Term, Healthier Alternative to Removable Dentures

The All-on-4® treatment concept is an incredibly efficient, cost-effective solution for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth. If you have only lost one or two teeth, dental implants are a fantastic solution for restoration; however, there is a better way to replace an entire arch of missing or failing teeth. The All-on-4 treatment concept is a full-arch restoration procedure that uses four dental implant posts to support a fixed denture.

Our oral surgeons at Southern Oral & Facial Surgery want all of our patients to feel confident about their smiles. When you are missing teeth, you may feel as though you have to hide your smile around others. Patients with removable dentures often feel embarrassed about removing their teeth during meals and dislike having to replace them every few years. Dr. Clark, Dr. Young, and Dr. Lewallen proudly offer the All-on-4 treatment concept so that more people can feel confident about a complete and healthy smile.

Am I a Good Candidate for the All-on-4 Treatment Concept?

If you are suffering from broken down teeth or are missing all (or most) of an entire arch of teeth, the All-on-4 treatment concept may be the solution you have been searching for. While many patients have been told that they are unable to receive traditional replacement options like multiple or single dental implants, they are still considered potential candidates for the All-on-4 treatment concept.

Ideal candidates for the All-on-4 treatment concept include those who:

  • Have several failing or missing teeth
  • Are in need of multiple dental implants
  • Are missing an entire upper or lower arch of teeth
  • Wear dentures

Our practice offers many bone grafting procedures to help more patients become candidates for implant-based restoration. If your jaw bone has weakened due to tooth loss, you may still be a candidate. Contact our office for an appointment, and our board-certified surgeons will evaluate your condition.

This procedure requires only one surgical visit. Once complete, you will have a new, secure set of natural-looking teeth.

The Procedure

Our oral surgeons will meet with you during your consultation appointment to review your medical history and perform an oral examination. They will assess any remaining teeth and the gums before determining the correct form of treatment and discuss your options for anesthesia. With our advanced in-office 3D imaging technology, we can analyze the structure of the jaw and bone needed for the placement of the implant posts.

For the first procedure, the dental implants are surgically inserted into the jaw bone. You will have a temporary set of teeth placed, which will be affixed to the dental implants until the final prosthesis is ready. With the temporary set of teeth placed during the first procedure, patients experience an immediately restored smile, although not yet fully functional.

Patients will need to undergo a healing period to allow the dental implants to properly fuse with the jaw bone. Once the dental implants are secure and healed, the temporary denture is removed, and the permanent set of replacement teeth are attached to the abutments. We provide detailed instructions to guide you through your oral surgery journey and to expedite the healing process.
