
Education and Residency
Dr. Ian McComb was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. He dedicated several years of his life working toward acquiring the skills needed to deliver the highest quality of patient care. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Michigan in 2010. During that time, he developed an interest in dentistry and went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery in Ann Arbor, Michigan. While in dental school, he was drawn to the specialty of oral surgery and identified it as a field in which he could make a profound impact on his patients over the coming years. Dr. McComb is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who specializes in providing a warm, sincerely effective patient experience.
He completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, a level one trauma center in the Chicago-metro area. He received comprehensive training in the full scope of oral surgery, including the management of facial trauma, pathology, skeletal deformities and TMJ disorders. Additionally, he was trained extensively in anesthesia techniques and takes pride in his ability to deliver safe and effective treatment for his each of patients, every time.
Interests
While at Loyola, he also met his wife, Mae. Since 2018, Dr. McComb has been practicing in Illinois and Michigan while Mae completed her training as a plastic surgeon. They are excited to settle into the Nashville area, and to be closer to family. Dr. McComb and his wife enjoy traveling, trying new cuisines, and staying active outdoors. They are looking forward to exploring in the great state of Tennessee and see a long-lived future for themselves in the area.
Dr. McComb joined the Southern Oral and Facial Surgery team in 2023. Within the oral and maxillofacial surgery field, he specialized in tooth extractions, pathology and facial trauma.
